Aleppo, October 25, 2026, SPA -- The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has concluded a project to care for orphans and economically empower their mothers in earthquake-affected areas of northwest Syria, as part of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts to support orphans worldwide.

Implemented from May 1, 2025, to June 10, 2026, the project provided monthly financial sponsorships of $50 to each of 1,000 orphans in the Afrin district of Aleppo Governorate, helping them cope with daily challenges.

The project also included economic empowerment programs for 400 mothers of orphans, providing in-kind grants, vocational training and professional toolkits in food processing, tailoring, fashion design, confectionery and pastry making, and digital marketing.

These programs aimed to enable beneficiaries to establish income-generating projects suited to their circumstances and capabilities, strengthen their economic stability, and improve their ability to integrate into and compete in the local market.

The initiative reflects the Kingdom's commitment to its humanitarian responsibilities toward vulnerable groups, as KSrelief continues to support orphans in Syria and help provide the means for them to live with dignity.
