Announcing the introduction of innovative 3D learning, Hologram and Virtual & Augmented reality solutions for the first time in KSA
With its innovative combination of 3D learning, hologram and virtual reality solutions, Midwam, based in Saudi Arabia, is set to revolutionise the way we learn, work and play in a new Digital Centre in Jeddah.
The only company of its type in the Saudi market, it has developed a truly futuristic range of products which have almost unlimited applications in education, medicine, industry and edutainment. Midwam’s new digital centre is the largest interactive venue in the Middle East and demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting the most advanced technology available in the region today.
Midwam recently entered into a partnership with Eon Reality Inc., a US-based technology provider, and provides its world-leading virtual and augmented reality technology, comprising hardware, software and content development, which have applications in education, entertainment, medicine and industry for both the Government and the Private Sector.
Sheikh Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce, commented, “We are proud to support this shining example of Saudi Arabian innovation which is setting the standard for the rest of the world. The creation and use of technology in the Kingdom is at an extremely sophisticated level, which benefits all sectors within our society.
“The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce is committed to fostering and encouraging local enterprises and talent, and it is this sort of initiative which enhances the diversification of the local, national and regional economy,” he added.
Badr Zuhair Fayez, Chairman of Midwam, said, “It’s testament to the strength of the Saudi economy that we are able to launch our company in this region. We’re extremely proud of our technological achievements, which we consider to be world-class, and honoured by the support we’ve received from the Government, which has enabled us to accomplish our dream – to bring the most up-to-date technology from this region to the world, for the betterment of humankind.” Midwam has developed technology which enables students to experience a 3D library through which they can study a variety of subjects including oceanography, astronomy and biology, amongst others, in a completely new way. In industry, the possibilities are limitless: in the Oil & Gas industry, for example, virtual exploration or training via a complex and immersive 3D environment substantially reduces both risk and costs; in the aerospace industry, easy visualisation enables users to better understand design concepts and layout options, reducing market and financial risks. Aviation training is also available by combining interactive 3D software with virtual reality products.
Edutainment (a combination of Education and Entertainment) is destined to become a major leisure activity in the future. Visitors to Midwam’s new Digital Centre can now experience for themselves the next generation of interactive entertainment.
Khalid Al Muawad, Midwam’s Chief Technology Officer, commented, “This is a momentous occasion for us – Midwam’s launch heralds the start of something truly unique. We have developed 3D technologies which will put Saudi Arabia even more firmly on the virtual and augmented reality map.
“It’s about using technology to improve education for our youth, to increase safety in the workplace, to enhance medical knowledge and learning, and it’s about having fun like you’ve never experience it before!” he added.
